Fav Cookbooks!

I love to cook and I will tell you of a couple cookbooks that I can't live without.  When I was diagnosed almost 2 years ago with Lupus and Celiac disease, I had to rethink my eating. I had to learn to be GLUTEN FREE!!!!   Let me tell you as an Italian, I grew up with all kinds of breads and pastas. I can cook just about anything. However, when I was faced with not being able to eat gluten that threw a huge wrench into my way of cooking.  You would be surprised where manufactures hide gluten in everyday items.

So I purchased a few cookbooks.

This book has been a godsend!  It explains how to eat gluten free and how to understand the diet. It also has recipies for not just main courses, but breakfast, appetizers, soups, desserts, meat , poultry, vegatarian dishes, asian dishes pastas, cakes, souffles, and so much  more all in one book....Not only a great recipie book, but its a complete recipie book you can use everyday!  This was one of the best purchases I made!

Love to Bake? Can't come close to regular baking results on a Gluten Free diet? This is the book for you!  It explains how to make some mouth watering baked goods that taste amazing and dont leave a bad taste in your mouth afterwards some some prepackaged GF mixes can.  This book doesnt focus as much on main dishes, it does focus on all baked goods, breads, pizzas, cakes, cookies and the like,  all the same its a good one for learning the process for making great GF homemade items.  IT will also save you money when you make your own flour vs buying store bought packaged flour!

This book is much smaller in terms of content, but just as awesome, it tells what the different GF grains are, it also helps you to make your own pasta from scratch.  The desserts and main dishes in here are awesome.  It even gives you recipies for GF ice cream waffle cones. A must try for sure.  Very very yummy.

So If you are starting on your own GF journey whether its for your own private wants, or you need to for your medical issues, i highly recommend these as staple cookbooks in your home. They will help make this GF nightmare more tolerable and fun as you explore tastey options for your newfound diet and pallet.

I really liked this product. The laundry came out clean and smelled clean. You just don't have that overly fragrant smell from standard laundry soaps. I feel sometimes they are way too strong.

I like that I can just throw this into the washer and be done. This comes with a free stain stick and 3 extra set of the molecules. The company says that 1 set lasts for a year. So you actually get to use this product for 3 years. Each set of molecules lasts for 12 months.

Been a Busy Busy week!

Hello everyone!  My rings have been a big hit this week! If you haven't seen them yet, you should really go check out my facebook fanpage for Jtcreationz!  I have been taking custom requests and creating like mad and its been a lot of fun!  I am playing with wire wrapping pendants also.  It is new for me but even that being said; what isn't fun about learning new ideas?

New items from my Jewelry Store JTCreationz

Today I got a ring mandrel. If you havent seen one before they are used to size rings, or in my case create them.

I made 3 today to test it out and learn some new techniques in jewelry making.

Silvertone Copper wite and is a size 6 with a blue stone as the centerpiece. I was going for a eyeball look

This next one is peridot colored stones on copper wire and is bright and shiney and size 9. This was my first attempt at a wire wrapped ring so please be kind.

 The 3rd one is silver tone copper wire and a size 4.  I used a green stone bead as the center and its a very simple ring. I am still learning but these are my first attempts.

Mom update

With everything that happened over the last 3 weeks with mom in the hospital we finally have some answers.  She started out with a skinbreak from bumping her wheelchair that the facility did not keep good eyes on nor did they let me know about it til it was about to the point of no return. She had her leg amputated in a 2 part procedure and is doing well. After the 2nd part of the amputation she must have had a mini stroke which rendered her unable to speak for several days. Now that they know that, they are also treating her for siezures since they see signs of it as well. That being said she can now speak more and is doing much better but is still being treated for C-dif and now has a UTI. But aside from that shes doing much better.  Its a long road to recovery for her, and she will be going to a new facility. I am taking legal action on the origional facility due to the neglegence and also to the drs that claimed her foot was fine. If it was so fine why is no longer on her body?  So yes legal action it is.  But that is the update/rant of the day from me.

Gluten Free- Guilt Free Banana-Choc-chip and walnut oatmeal cookies

So why are these cookies so dang good?  Why are they guilt free?  Oh and tastey, yes they really are!!!

Can't be true can it?  Well these cookies have NO flour, sugar, or salt, or butter in them, and yet dissapear just as fast as if they did.    So want the scoop?  OK I will give you my recipie but make sure you link back to me please :)  Thank you ever so much!!!!!

Tiff Joly's Easy Gluten Free- Guilt Free Banana-Choc-chip and walnut oatmeal cookies

What you need :

Several Overripe Bananas ( I used an entire bunch cause I make lots and keep them for later)
Instant Quick Oats (any brand works)
Chocolate Chips (one bag for a huge batch, half bag for smaller batches)
Walnuts - or any other nut for adding to cookies.
2 Eggs - (optional)
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat Oven to 350 F

The Measurements dont have to be exact either.  One cup bananas to about 1/2Cup Oats.
  So you can really play around with this recipie and add things to it.  Remember bananas act as your wet ingredients so you want to mash them really well, add oats and vanilla (eggs also if you add them go in now) till you get a sticky and what looks a bit dry oat/banana batter. Let sit a few moments.

One cup bananas to about 1/2Cup Oats.

Once the batter has rested and gets the wet texture to it you can add in your chocolate chips, or nuts and any other items you want in your cookies.  If the batter seems more dry after adding extras, you can add eggs as a binder. You dont have to have them in there. You could easily add an extra banana as well.  I add eggs to help keep the form on the cookies.  Pure preference :)

Another note - if you are used to making oatmeal cowboy cookies and how they expand, this recipie does NOT do this. So if you want thinner cookies use a fork like in peanut butter cookies to form them a lil better, or you can make them into balls and they hold thier shape too (this is great if you like doing chocolate coated cookie balls)

They take about 10-15 mins to cook, just keep an eye on them once they get a light brown color they are done.  Let them cool and they are a chewy soft cookie that tastes very similar to banana bread with chocolate.

Enjoy your guilt free cookies.  Just as with any sweets don't go overboard and enjoy them but who can resist LOL.  If you need any help with this recipie just comment below. I tried to give you options and ideas but you can change it up with your favorite ingredients. This is for fun and healthy sweets.

Programs I highly recommend.

I have been working on computers for a very long time and there are many really awesome programs out there that can help keep your computer clean and virus free. One of my favorites is called

CLEANUP.EXE You can download it here . Its a great program and it gets rid of cookies and lots of temp files that the normal program built into your operating systems do not always catch. It sounds like a toilet and it works super fast. I highly recommend it and use it whenever I am working on computers remotely or otherwise.

Another great one if you need help and your techie friend lives far away and cant help you....or can they?  I use Teamviewer to remote into my friends computers to help fix what ails them. It allows  a secure remote connection that resets the password everytime the program is started fresh.  It allows the remote user (your friend helping you) to access the computer as if they are sitting at it at your home, allowing them to get into files that need removing, software uninstallation, installation of new things, and cleanup. Basically whatever they need at their fingertips....only downside you must be online for it to work so if you have a crashed computer with no internet access this will not work for you. I also recommend AVG FREE antivirus software as it doesnt bog down older systems and it is very secure. It is FREE another added bonus!  I use it on all my personal computers and everything is nice and clean. But I also make sure I keep up with my computer and am careful about what I install and who uses my systems.  However, its a great way to keep up to date with antivirus definitions for free!  So if you need antivirus software and cant afford a full version AVG FREE is the one for you. You can download that here.

These are just some of the free helpful softwares available online that help you out. I will share more as my blog grows. I can't give you all my secrets can I?  LOL

Review Sally Hanson Magnetic Nail polish

OMG! I think I have a new fav when it comes to nail polish!  The magnetic nail polish from Sally Hansen is pretty awesome alone but when you add the magnet to it....the results are stunning! I love the effect you get and I have a few colors. What is currently on my nails is called 901 Golden Conduct! Do you see the shiney half moons? That's the effect that the magnet gets. And they have extra magnets you can purchase to make different magnetic designs as well!!! Isnt that fun!

I have another color as well 902 Polar Purple. That is the one on the right! it has a gorgeous grape jelly with a mix of silver in it that I really love!

If you are looking for a Nailpolish that really makes a statement you should totally try these!
